Ayo Queens get the money nigga still screamin “Paper Chasin’”

he’d rather floss with diamonds

that ’shorty doo-wop rolling oowops in the park reclining’ ”
take twenty-seven mc’s put em in a line and they out of alignment
my assignment said she said retirement hiding behind 8 Mile and The Chronic

I have written about this endlessly.Nas is a follower not a leader that is why he never saw the success that Jay z had.You see when you listen to a thug like Jay Z or 50 cent they speak from some sort of real experience not an imagination build on mobster movies,Donald Goines novels and television.Nas never proved he has life experience only a spectators point of view. Now I hate gangster rap which is a term not something that really exist but if someone does it then they should do it.Nas insults his listener by on one hand trying to identify with his people then in the same rhyme talk about making it through selling drugs.Listen to 'one mic'he trys to please two adverse views, one that identifies with the working man,and then trys to talk about the working mans worst enemy which is the thug/criminal enemy within. The results he cancels himself out and is not taken seriously, even on the level on Souldja Boy.Nas has skills one of the best but he failed because he was weak,he could have led Queens Bridge into a golden age but he choose to be the black Pablo Escobar and now he will dissapear like he never existed.

I think he had to address 50 Cent in the song its called “Queens Get The Money” and they both from queens. The two haven’t been really been cool, but if 50 would stop spitting in EVERYONE’S face he would realize that he COULD have earned Nas’s cosign and not gone at him and maybe even done a song with him. He should have made better choice’s as an MC in Hip-Hop and not make more enemies then friend’s especially if there one of the most respected people from Queens.

Kala, I respect your opinion but I believe your wrong to ever say Nas is a follower and fool and state that as a fact.
I liked to see why you think he is a fool's follower as all men or anyone follow the example's of others and BECOME leader's and I believe that to be an actual fact. Jay-Z is talented and knows how to sell and communciate his thoughts to a level more can understand which is why he has had amazing more business success but he and Nas are alot alike. And Jay-Z and 50 WERE heavyliy inspired and you could even say FOLLOWED the thoughts of mobster movies like Scarface and tried to BECOME them and if you look at all the times you read there lyrics they feel they have become those people or atleast potray that.
All rappers talk about a wide amont of thing's and Nas should not insult you by talking amount anything that comes to there mind and speaking from the perspect of another that's the mark of a true genius in my opinion. Nas's contiune's to do what he's best at and he will NEVER be gone from Hip-Hop or Queen's Legacy as a legend and I KNOW thats a FACT.

This is not a diss towards you or anything this is just how I see it.
From the perspective of someone who respect's Jay-Z, 50 and Nas.

Yes I agree but the problem with Nas is he goes out of his way to sound gangster even though his skill and talent is far above the rest of these rappers.I have relatives who lived in Queens bridge around Nas,they tell me he was good natured, respectful and just your average dude. Now remember the time frame this is the nineties thug gangster rap was starting to get air play in New York.Only Queens bridge was trying to go the gangster route,by sinking to the west coast level. The rest of New York ignored that foolishness. In Queens bridge unlike the rest of New York seemed like its own planet of negativity,it was so anti New York. Many who live there were transplants from the south and the islands. That part of New York is very isolated so the style of hip hop reflects that.Nas cannot go both ways, you cannot be a gangster then sing I know I can.Be a gangster or be for the people there is no in between.Nas would be on top of the world if he had not given into the gutter thug no principles mentality.
