It’s Been Seven Weeks. Do You Know Where Your Copy Of Tha Carter III Is?

http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/?p=5873

We must discuss these things. If it's a "classic," as critics would have us to believe, are you/we/me still listening to it?

I love Wayne, but I don't think his CD is a classic. I think it's a very good album to listen to, but after you listen to it a few times you stop and wait for what Wayne puts out next. He's always writing new songs so you don't have time to focus your attention on just one album. I played it like 5 times in one day and I love the songs, but some are annoying like "Lollipop" and "Got Money". I hear them all the time on the radio. The rest of the songs are genius because of Wayne's unique style of rapping.

Its still in heavy rotation wherever I listen to music. Its one of the best albums I've heard in a while. So that makes me wonder if I listen to it so much because its a good album or everything else coming out has just been garbage. Has the bar been lowered or raised?

Lil Wayne is hot and he makes HOT Mixtapes but no this album is not a classic album. It's a radio friendly album. the best joints on the CD is the story telling ones like Shoot me down and Tie my hands. While "A Milli" beat was fiya some remixes where better. The label intentions now is shot the videos and get the radio spins. When classics are made usually its far from shit that can be played on the radio because a "CLASSIC" is intented for the real hip hop die hard fans in mind not the radio.

Most "Classics" that were made are really vivid, hardcore and not shit that can be played on radio until its has been remixed and cleaned before they can play it.
