Sample Manipulating v/s Sample Looping

I know some Fiyah Producers who can take a sample and chop it, cut it, reverse it, scatter it out, then play something over it, and if they didn't tell you or if you weren't just a music junkie, you would never know where it came from.. Then on the other hand I know some cattz who will take a sample and loop it after about 8 bars and put a boom pap on it and call it a beat..

Now no disrespect to who ever the latter refers to in this social community.. but I just want to know.. Who feels like it's all one in the same? Me personally being a musician don't really f*ck with samples.. How ever I have made a few tracks that started from samples.. but I play on top of them to make them my own sound.. feel me..?

Don't think I'm bashing you Sample Kings cause that's the essence of hip-hop in a big way.. I'm just challenging you cattz to open it up a little.. Instead of just looping a sample after 8 bars.. at least take a few different samples so that you can change up the vibe throughout the track.. yah-mean..?

I'm gonna just quote 9th Wonder on this one...*Ahem* "Hip Hop is Hip Hop, even if your beat is beatin on a bucket with 2 sticks." LOL!!! I thawt dat wuz funny! Personally, I think if you make dope sh** than it is what it is. I like samples, whether chopped up or just a loop. Samples can give producers a direction 4 how they wanna create. Based on what you sample is probably based on how you feel...becuz emotion make classical music (See Blueprint). You can do so much with it, and dats what is cool about Hip Hop...no boundaries on how 2 create your music.

To me it don't really matter if a track is a 8 bar looped sample or its made from scratch, as long as it's hot, it's hot.

by saying "Me personally being a musician don't really f*ck with samples.. " implys samplers are not muscians. Now ill just use Just Blaze as an example.. he will take a funk sample loop it, but then layer it with his own synths, organs and he almost plays his drums live over all his beats using his drumset... so personally me being a musician i respect anything that sounds nice
p.s. hip hop's foundation was founded on sampling breaks and what not by dj's

I don't really care for lazy "producers" period, whether it's sampling 8 bars, looping it, and putting drums and maybe a bassline over it or if they're using preset sounds. I'll admit.. I slip into lazy producer mode every now and then, and usually what gets made at that time goes nowhere.

As for not having access to vintage sounds... anything that makes a sound has been reproduced in software and hardware. There are formats like Gigasampler that have high quality almost everything available. Problem is they cost about the same as an Mpc and not too many cats have the cash to drop that. There are VSTi's that are more affordable, and I'm sure there are ways to obtain them without paying much... for cats using a computer in their set up, it really isn't hard to get ahold of this stuff.

I've got no problem with cats who make something new out of a loop, even more so if they dig and don't just grab something off a hit song. I could go on forever about this, but I'm stopping myself.
