Japanese hip hop

Anybody into this type of hip - hop with produces like Nujabes and emcees like Shing02? This Japanese Hip-Hop is starting to become more popular over time and collaborations with artist such as Substantional are becomming more spread. Personally I like it, the music feels like fusion between Nu-Jazz or Clubjazz, but nonetheless, when its all said and done hip-hop is hip-hop with many genres many sounds...just wanted to see who else is into it.
I also wanted to add that this is an example of why hip-hop is not limited to color, borders, etc... like in an earlier thread where some dude tried to view hip-hop in an ethno-centric way and was trying to say only blacks can define hip-hop.

i dont know any of the heads that you mentioned but i've listened to some Japanese Hip Hop. I've actually produced and performed with a Japanese cat, performed there and have people over there. Substantial used to be on a Japanese label awhile back. Yea I think it's a good thing though. But it's not new, they've been doing it for a minute out there. DJ Honda, DJ Muro, emcees like Zebra even as far back as Scha Dara Parr.

Japan's Hip Hop Scene is huge! I released a Hip Hop/Jazz album on Swamp Records in Japan Last Sept...They are very into Jazz in Japan...I was hyped to have my music in tower records next to Dilla, and Nujabes! I heard Japan is also one of the dopest places to digg/shop for records...I hope to release more music in Japan, and eventually tour out there...

I've known about Shing02 for a minute. He's dope. Just got into Nujabees. He's pretty dope with those tracks. And Honda's dope as well. What's been up with him? I haven't heard from him in a minute.

Scratching and "djying" is huge in Japan.

The turntable outsells the guitar over there.
They have 3x more Dj schools over there than over here, makes me wanna pack up
and teach over there.
