Do you think the spirit of Hip-Hop during it's golden era (80's, 90's)will return?? or will the all original elements fade out and the mainstream cliche rap reign supreme?
We're sorry, but this discussion has just been closed to further replies.
depends on how individuals feel about the music and the culture.....more and more people i think are trying to involve the other elements of hip hop these days but, i'm not sure if they're doing so it won't fade or so they can get points for doing so
Thats what I was saying...It's going to come around...it might be a lil mutated but it'll still have that feel and that sound of hip hop you are looking for.
Man, its kinda like certain products...they always try to bring shit back...or inspired by what was back in the days
ONCE THE SPIRITS GONE I believe it is gone 4 good ,while the good ones still alive i think the torch still 'll keeping the fire on .but what's gonna happen once all we got left it is just a few nwllies, 50 cents n the so called dirty south guys?i love&live hip-hop but nutha stay the same.peace outta to all ya
Balance... Hopefully it will come back with balance... I don't have a problem with "mainstream".... I just wish there was some balance in the "stream"....
good question and i'm sure it's on many people's minds - hip hop's now at the stage where most of the golden era samples etc would be unheard to the younger fans, so we could probably almost start over just with new artists, but then wouldn't we just be re-packaging the past? I'm all for going back to big breaks and soulful loops, but unless the record companies want that sound it'll never be big again - it's a shame bacause there's lots of generic drum machine crap out there that has no individual feeling to it, yet it sells millions?!?
I don't think it'll ever be the same. There's so many factors surrounding Hiphop nowadays. The best we can ask for is to never remain stagnant, to keep moving.
The original elements will never fade out, but I believe you'll see more and more entities in the future that while unrecognizable to some old school heads, you still see the foundation of what was once called hiphop (of course I'm speaking from way wayyyyy down the line).
I believe even what we define as hiphop will change as the years go by.
As long as the progress is positive, thats what matters is it not?
