Japanese hip hop

Anybody into this type of hip - hop with produces like Nujabes and emcees like Shing02? This Japanese Hip-Hop is starting to become more popular over time and collaborations with artist such as Substantional are becomming more spread. Personally I like it, the music feels like fusion between Nu-Jazz or Clubjazz, but nonetheless, when its all said and done hip-hop is hip-hop with many genres many sounds...just wanted to see who else is into it.
I also wanted to add that this is an example of why hip-hop is not limited to color, borders, etc... like in an earlier thread where some dude tried to view hip-hop in an ethno-centric way and was trying to say only blacks can define hip-hop.

there is a lot of dope stuff coming from over there, between the hip hop and anime I'm learning japanese because of it...

some of the ones I've heard are the ones named already except Teriyaki Boys,

Origami, The Blue Herb, Meiso, first cats I heard were on Bomb Hip Hop Worldwide... Goretex and Muro, Arata (Living Legends), and I'm currently working with a cat named Kaigen who is part of Curse Ov Dialect.

Very dope stuff, I would love to get over there sometime soon. They're very accepting of hip hop from what I've heard.

As for cats not being accepting of hip hop, I've heard it for a long time... There are "heads" who won't listen to anything made outside of NYC and won't accept it as hip hop. Then there are those who think that if it was made outside of the US isn't hip hop. I enjoy people like myself who either have or are willing to listen to something from anywhere. I've heard emcees and or producers in over 30 countries, doesn't matter their race or nationality, people antwhere and everywhere can and are making dope hip hop.

Just to bump this -

I'm not totally up on things, as it's been a couple years since I was last in Tokyo, but the most exciting Japanese hip hop to me is a group called Origami (name actually means "Rising Gods," not the paper folding, it sounds the same but it's spelled differently) and their affiliates in Temple Ats. There's also a guy called ECD who makes some really weird underground shit, a group called MSC that i don't really know but sound great. Look for a compilation called Overrap put out by P-vine records. I don't know if it's available for order in any American stores but check www.p-vine.com.

I'm going to be in Tokyo between August 7th and 21st to write an article about Japanese experimental hip hop. If anyone over there wants to recommend artists or shows, or especially if you're friends with anyone and want to help me set up an interview, it would be really appreciated. I want to cover as much as I possibly can. Send me a private message, i think you can do that through these boards, right?
