Have you ever had one of those days when you just feel like God is laughing at you? Shy's music career must have him rollin'. He began emceeing seriously at the young age of 15, when people started gassing him about how well he could rhyme. A month later, those people were arrested. Two months after that, Shy moved across town.

From this point on, Shy focused on becoming all-pro. He worked tirelessly, non-stop, to improve every aspect of his lyrical abilities. Kid even joined up in a chorus class to improve breath control. Somewhere during the hip-hop bootcamp sessions, Kase auditioned for a concert acclaimed to be the "biggest thing to hit the 919 in years." It was his first time performing on stage, and his first time actually touching a mic. Our Father must've cut him some slack that day, because he blew the judges out of the water. He earned studio time, a concert space, and a whole new outlook on his potential music career. But this is real life. The studio turned out to be a shoddy bomb-shelter-looking foam coffin. He was beat-jacked. The concert never happened, and he was back at square one.

Life continued to bust his ass when air time on local college radio fell through, a North Carolina mixtape which was to have his only professional song (at the time) on it never dropped, and he severed ties will nearly every one of his fellow artists.

Nowadays, you can catch Shy recording in a booth made out of carpeted doorframes with USB condenser mic. At 17, he's too young to be let into any venues to perform, as even the open mics are only held at adult lounges or bars. Kase has upped his game more than paranoid players at first cuts after tryouts. He’s ready to let the world know he actually exists, pushing his skill on the microphone beyond any in his age bracket. And, of course, he's still trying to find out what's got Jesus crackin' up in the 3rd row.
