About Me:: The background of the man that would come to be known as SonDu is purportedly as hazy as the air of his studio during a recording session. But one fact is clear: The man's got some sh*t with him! No new-comer, his history is intertwined with many Boston-area underground Hip Hop luminaries, including Insight, Dagha and Mr. Lif. Born during the genesis of what we now know as Hip Hop, his development virtually mirrored that of the culture as he came to embrace all of the elements. Coming of age in the early nineties, his musical sensibilities were forged in the fires of what many consider to be Hip Hop's "Golden Age" and most innovative and ground-breaking period. This is evident upon listening to his catalog, a grab-bag of soulful, groove-heavy joints that span from the stripped-down, head-nod inducing epitome of the "less is more" approach to more dense productions where many elements are blended into a beautiful, controlled chaos. Through each twist, each metamorphosis, there is one constant: The neck never stops bobbin', even when you're too busy trying to figure it all out to notice.
