About The Regiment

The Regiment
Hometown:
Detroit
About Me:
Two artists who came together for the better cause. Bubble gum zombie music can not be tolerated. It has no substance, no meaning, it never lasts, but continues to be recycled through our air waves. A group that can relate to the everyday struggles of the hip hop artist and people where ever realness resides. C. Reid (21) and O.S.I. (22) both were born and raised in Detroit. C. Reid grew up on the eastside of the city, while O.S.I. lived on the westside. Eventually, the two ended up living in the same hood. Everything happens for a reason and this was the purpose, The Regiment. Together, combined with their DJ The Arch-E-Tect (23), hip hop will takes its course back to the right path, how it was meant to be. Bringin' live music to your radio and showin' love to those who do the same. Hip hop does live and can never die, but it is the job of todays emcees to show the world hip hop is a force to be reckoned with

Favorite Artist/Music:
During the come up of The Regiment through hip hop, there have been many influences who had a everlasting effect. Some people have said they resemble Outkast mixed with some Run DMC (due to their two emcee, one DJ setup), but maintain their own sound. Basically, any real artist who is true to themselves, down to make real music that we could listen to without feeling disgusted or disappointed has an influence on this group. Any artist who is hungry and wants to make things happen have had an influence on this group. And finally, any artist who deserved a legitimate chance and took full advantage of their opportunity has influenced this group a great deal. The Regiment will represent the new generation of hip hop while maintaining its true value and substance. HIP HOP LIVES!!!

    Added a reply May. 15, 2007

Why do you feel Hip Hop is a "Struggle"? I grasp the obvious concepts of truth and soul. I just wanted to get a better prespective on your views of the "Struggle" of Hip-Hop. Read More »

Meant a lot. You hit it right on the nose with your first sentence, fam!!! I believe the same thing. It's being, if not already, divided into separate entities. But I think one of the more concrete... Read More »

    The Rawkus 50: It's Official

The Regiment is proud and excited to be part of history. The Rawkus 50 got some serious cats under it and we ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. You feel me? We were one of two artists/groups to be selected out of the D, Detroit MI (The other being Finale). We're gonna make sure we rep for our city, but more important, the Hip Hop game. I know we can't do it all ourselves, but dammit, we gon hold down our end of the bargain, for real!! Rawkus provided a great opportunity and we plan…
